Colombo Hikers මේ පාර අපේ ගමනාන්තය විදියට තෝරගත්තේ බදුල්ල, මඩොල්සිම ප්රදේශය. කොටුවෙන් රෑ 8.30 බදුල්ල night mail එකෙන් බදුලු යන්න අපි පිටත් වුනා. 🚂
බදුල්ල night mail ගමන කියන්නෙත් ලංකාවේ තියෙන ලස්සනම train ride එකක්. මේ ගමනෙදි දකින්න ලැබෙන සුන්දරම දර්ශනය වෙන්නේ ඉදල්ගස්හින්න දුම්රිය ස්ථානයෙන් පස්සේ පේන sunrise එක. Night mail එක පාන්දර 6 වගේ වෙනකොට ඉදල්ගස්හින්නට ළඟා වෙනවා. මේ ලස්සන දර්ශනය බලන්න නම් දුම්රියේ වම් පැත්තේ (ඒ කියන්නේ දුම්රිය ගමන් කරන දිශාවට මුහුණලා වම් පැත්තේ) ජනේලයක් හරි දොරක් හරි ළඟ ඉන්න වෙනවා. ඉදල්ගස්හින්න station එක pass කරනකොටම වම් පැත්තේ බෑවුම හරහා නැගෙනහිර අහසින් රතුපාට වලාකුළු එක්ක ඉර නැගගෙන එනවා පේනවා. ඒත් එක්කම පහළින් වලාකුළුයි මීදුම් පටලයි අතරින් මතු වුණු පුංචි කඳු පන්ති ගොඩක් පැහැදිලිව දැකගන්න පුලුවන්. මේ දර්ශනය වචනෙන් කියන්න බැරි තරම් සුන්දර දිව්ය ලෝකයක් වගේ. පැය ගානක් නිදිමතේ ආව ගමන් මහන්සිය මේ view එක දකිද්දිම නැති වෙලා යනවා. 🌤️ ඉදල්ගස්හින්නෙන් පස්සේ හපුතලේ, දියතලාව, බණ්ඩාරවෙල, ඇල්ල nine arch හරහා කොළ පාට පරිසරයක් මැදින් උදේ 8 වගේ වෙනකොට බදුල්ලට night mail එක එනවා.
බදුල්ලට ආව අපි අපේ ගමනාන්තය වෙන මඩොල්සිම රත්කැලේ පතන බලා යන්න පිටත් වුණා. රත්කැලේ පතන තියෙන්නේ බදුල්ලෙ ඉඳන් 60km වඩා දුරින්. බදුල්ලෙන් පස්සරට මුලින්ම යන්න ඕනේ. පස්සරින් 10.30 A.M, 12.30 P.M, 3.30 P.M වගේ බස් තියෙනවා පිටමාරුව කියලා. මේ බස් එකේ බස් එක නවත්තන තැනට වෙනකල් යන්න ඕනේ. සාමාන්යයෙන් පැය 3 ක වගේ ගමනක්. දුෂ්කර වුනත් වටපිටාවෙ සුන්දරත්වය නිසාම මහන්සියක් දැනෙන්නෙම නෑ. තේ වතු මැදින් යන ගමනෙදි පාර දෙපැත්තේ තියෙන මැයි මාර, ඇසළ ගස් වල පිපුනු රතු, කහ මල් සුන්දරත්වය තවත් වැඩි කරනවා. 🍀 හවස 3.30 ට විතර අපි රත්කැලේට ආවා. තරමක වැස්සක් අපි ගිය දවසේ තිබුණත් වැස්ස ලොකු බාධාවක් වුනේ නෑ.
මේ ගමනෙදි රත්කැලේ camping කරන්න අපිට උදව් කරේ Phoenix camfer team එක. එයාලා බොහොම හොඳ සුහදශීලී සේවාවක් ලබා දෙනවා. රෑ බෝ වෙනකල් එයාලගේ guest house එකේ නතර වෙලා හිටපු අපි රෑ camping කරන්න සූදානම් වුණා. වැස්ස පෑයුවට පස්සේ අපි රත්කැලේ පතනට camping කරන්න ගියා. රෑ camping night එක BBQ party, bonfire with music, උණුසුම් කෝපි පානය හා Phoenix camfer team එක විසින් පිළියෙල කරපු රසවත් dinner එකත් එක්ක ගෙවිලා ගියා. 🏕️
රත්කැලේ පතන කියන්නේ බොහොම පහසුවෙන් ඕනම වාහනයකින් ගිහින්, ඕනම කෙනෙක්ට camping කරන්න පුලුවන් බොහොම safe camping place එකක්. භයානක සත්තු වගේම කූඩැල්ලන්ගෙන් තොරව camping කරන්න පුලුවන් තැනක් විදියටත් මෙය හදුන්වා දෙන්න පුලුවන්. ඒ වගේම එකවර 50 කට වුනත් camping කරන්න ඉඩ තියෙනවා. රත්කැලේ පතනට ලංකාවේ නැගෙනහිර කලාපයේ විශාල ප්රදේශයක් දැකගන්න පුලුවන්. 1350m පමණ උසින් පිහිටා තියෙන රත්කැලේ පතනට පහළින් බිබිල, මොණරාගල, අම්පාර, මඩකලපුව ප්රදේශ වල කඳු වැටි රාශියක් වගේම සේනානායක සමුද්රය, මාදුරු ඔය ජලාශය, ලොග්ගල් ඔය, උල්හිටිය රත්කිඳ ජලාශ බොහොම පැහැදිලිව දිස්වෙනවා. ⛰️ ඒ වගේම නැගෙනහිර වෙරළින් උදා වෙන sunrise එකත් එක්ක පේන පරිසරය ගෙන්නේ කියලා නිම කරන්න බැරි සුන්දරත්වයක්. අමතක නොවන camping night එකකට පස්සේ ලස්සනම ලස්සන morning view එකත් එක්ක strong tea එකයි breakfast එකයි ගන්නත් අපි අමතක කරේ නෑ. දාලා යන්න බැරි තරම් සුන්දරත්වයක් තියෙන රත්කැලේ පතනේ තවත් සැඟවුණු සුන්දර තැන් ගොඩක් තියෙනවා කියලා අපිට දැනගන්න ලැබුනා. ඒ තැන් වලට යන්න ආයෙත් එන බලාපොරොත්තුවෙන් අපි රත්කැලේට සමු දීලා මඩොල්සිම පුංචි ලෝකාන්තය බලන්න ආවා.
පුංචි ලෝකාන්තය තියෙන්නේ රත්කැලේ පතන ඉඳන් මඩොල්සිම පැත්තට 4km විතර ආපහු එනකොට. පුංචි ලෝකාන්තයටත් රත්කැලේ පතනට පේන view එකම පේනවා. නිතරම මීදුමෙන් වැහිලා යන පුංචි ලෝකාන්තයේ සම්පූර්ණ දර්ශනයක් බලාගන්න ටිකක් අමාරුයි. 🌫️ පුංචි ලෝකාන්තය ඉහළ කොටස හා පහළ කොටස කියලා කොටස් 2 ක් තියෙනවා. පහළ කොටසේ camping කරන්නත් පුලුවන්.
ඉතිං ඒ විදිහට මඩොල්සිම සංචාරය කරපු අපි නැවත කොළඹ එන්න පිටත් වුණා. රත්කැලේ ඉඳලා බදුල්ලට එන්න පැය කීපයකට සැරයක් බස් තියෙනවා. අන්තිම බස් එක හවස 4.30 ට. ඉතින් අපි ඊට කලින් තිබ්බ බස් එකක බදුල්ලට ඇවිල්ලා night mail එකේම ආපහු කොළඹ ආවා. ✨
මඩොල්සිම හා රත්කැලේ පතන කියන්නේ ලංකාවේ තියෙන බොහෝම සුන්දර ප්රදේශයක් වගේම පහසුවෙන් සංචාරය කරන්න පුලුවන් තැනක්. 🍃 ඒ නිසා මේ සංවේදී පරිසර පද්ධති රැකගන්න එක අපේ වගකීමක්. මඩොල්සිම සුන්දරත්වය විඳගන්න ගමන් ඒ පරිසරය ආරක්ෂා කරලා එන්න හැමෝම වගබලා ගන්න.

As Colombo Hikers this time we chose Badulla,
Madulsima as our destination. We began our journey
from Colombo Fort railway station to go to Badulla by
night mail at 8.30 P.M. 🚂
This is one of the most beautiful train rides in Sri
Lanka. A beautiful morning view can be seen after passing the Idalgashinna railway station. The train arrives Idalgashinna railway station around 6.00 A.M. If you want to see this beautiful view you must stay near a window or door at the left side (facing direction of the train ride). As soon as you pass the Idalgashinna railway station you can see the sun rising from the Eastern sky with red clouds through the slope on the left side. At the same time you can clearly see the small mountain ranges emerged among the fog. This view is like a beautiful divine world that cannot be described in words. After hours of sleep, the tiredness disappears from our faces as soon as you see this view. 🌤️ After Idalgashinna, through Haputale, Diyatalawa, Bandarawela, Ella Nine Arch the night mail arrives at Badulla around 8.00 A.M.
After arriving at Badulla we started traveling to our destination. Rathkele pathana is located 60km away from Badulla. First you should travel to Passara from Badulla. From the Passara bus stand buses are available to Rathkele pathana from time to time called Pitamaruwa. Buses available from the Passara bus stand at 10.30 A.M, 12.30 P.M, & 3.30 P.M. Usually it’s about 3 hours journey from Passara to Pitamaruwa. Eventhough it's difficult, you won't feel tired because of beauty of the surroundings. On the way, tea estates, bloomed red & yellow flowers of May Maara & Ehela trees add beauty to the nature. 🍀 We arrived at Rathkele pathana around 3.30 P.M. It rained quite a bit on the day we went, but that rain was not a big obstacle for camping.
In this camping night at Rathkele pathana, Phoenix Camfer team made an unforgettable memory to us. They provide a very good service. We stayed at their guest house untill the rain ends & after that we went to the Rathkele pathana to pitch our tents. This camping night was a wonderful experience with BBQ party, bonfire, mind healing music, coffee & the delicious dinner made by Phoenix Camfer team. 🏕️
Rathkele pathana is a very safe camping place without any dangerous animals nor leeches, where anyone can easily reach by any vehicle & also It’s possible for about 50 persons to do camping at once. From the view point of Rathkele pathana we can get a view of a large area of Eastern region, Sri lanka. Below Rathkele pathana, which is located at a height of 1350m, many mountain ranges of Bibile, Monaragala, Ampara, Batticaloa & Senanayake samudraya, Maduru Oya reservoir, Loggal oya, Ulhitiya Rathkinda reservoir are very clearly visible. ⛰️ Also sunrise over the Eastern sea which is a indescribable scenery also can be seen from here. After an unforgettable camping night, we did not forget to have a strong tea and the breakfast with a beautiful morning view. We got to know that there are some hidden beautiful natural places in Rathkele pathana. With the hope of go to those places we said Good bye to Phoenix Camfer team at Rathkele pathana & we came over to visit Madulsima - Mini World’s End.
Mini World’s End is located 4km away from Rathkele pathana towards Madulsima. It’s difficult to get a clear view of Mini World’s End as it is mostly covered with Fog. 🌫️ Mini World’s End has two parts upper & lower. At the lower part you can do camping.
After visiting the Mini Worl’s End we leaved Madulsima to come back to Colombo. The final bus turn from Pitamaruwa to Badulla is 4.30 P.M. So we came to Badulla by previous bus as we need travel to Colombo by night mail train. ✨
Madulsima & Rathkele pathana are very beautiful areas in Sri Lanka & places that can be easily visited. 🍃 So it’s our responsibility to protect these sensitive ecosystems. Everyone should make sure to protect the environment while enjoying the beauty of Madulsima.
