In 2021, UN Human Rights Council Resolution 46/1 established two vital mandates for Sri Lanka: one to the OHCHR Sri Lanka Accountability Project (OSLAP) to collect, analyse and preserve evidence of gross human rights violations and serious violations of international humanitarian law, advocate for victims and survivors, and support relevant judicial and other proceedings, including in Member States with competent jurisdiction; and another to the High Commissioner for Human Rights to continue monitoring and reporting on the human rights situation in Sri Lanka.

Ravina Shamdasani, Chief Spokesperson for the UN Human Rights Office, answered questions from Groundviews about why the accountability project was established, what it hopes to achieve, and the challenges of engaging with unresponsive governments.

We are very excited to announce that Neethanjana, AMBA's Production Manager and Tea Master, has been invited to be a keynote speaker at the Venice Tea Day. This unique celebration of tea will be hosted at the historic Scuola Grande di San Marco in Venice on June 20 and 21, 2026.

Neethanjana will be presenting a keynote speech on “Sri Lanka: the new voice of Ceylon Tea” on the morning of June 21, and he will be leading a masterclass on "The Artisan Way - Exploring exceptional teas from Sri Lanka" on the evening of June 21.

We do hope that many of our friends and fans from Italy and neighbouring countries may be able to join for this inaugural event.
