Hello we are Samadara Estate. We welcome you to our magical villa set within 8 acres of cinnamon plantation and shady coconut groves. The house was designed by one of Sri Lanka's most prestigious architects and boasts spectacular interiors. It is owned by the Harragin family from the UK.
This fully-staffed villa is only 30 minutes from Galle Fort and 10 minutes from the best beaches and surf in Sri Lanka. Despite its convenient location the villa is extremely secluded with its own gated driveway and large garden with uninterrupted views over the many paddy fields that surround it on all sides. A natural haven in which to relax lulled by melodious birdsong and soft chanting from the nearby monastery.
Our stylish villa offers 3 double bedrooms and 1 twin all with their own private terraces, private outdoor bathrooms, wifi and air-conditioning. There is also an additional twin room above the yoga studio which has access to an external bathroom. It can comfortably sleep ten guests.
The villa has a generous amount of relaxation space (both indoors and outdoors): a library and tv room, a yoga room, a well equipped modern kitchen, a dining room, drawing room, BBQ facilities and of course the decadent swimming pool.
There is free WiFi with high speed internet access throughout the villa and garden.
STAFF
The house is staffed by our very friendly English-speaking house manager Madura, our resident chef Lakmal, our gardener Manju, our cinnamon expert Ratna, and a 24hr security team. Madura is your main point of contact whilst staying at the villa and can organise anything you need. Lakmal will prepare you delicious breakfasts of fresh fruit from the garden, local curd, and egg hoppers. He can also cook you mouth-watering local curries and a range of western dishes for lunch and supper on your request.
The villa has its own tuk-tuk which is at your disposal when free otherwise external tuk-tuks, a car, or a van can be arranged.
ACTIVITIES
We can organise private yoga classes and massages for you in the yoga room at your request. Annual yoga retreats ‘Samadara Retreats’ are held at the villa .
The infamous surfing beaches Midigama and Welligama are a 10 minute tuk-tuk drive away and Madura will point you towards the best surf school/hire for that season.
There are numerous restaurants nearby to suit all palettes with all recommendations written down at the house.
Other activities such as fishing, whale-watching, safari, or travelling further afield can be arranged via Madura.
