Located in the tranquil coastal fishing village of Mirissa, JJ’s is the ideal place to base yourself in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka (only 150km South of Colombo). Mirissa is famous for its golden crescent-shaped beach, incredible whale watching experiences, surfing, relaxed atmosphere and warm tropical climate. Situated close to other popular destinations such as Weligama (surfing), Unawatuna (beach), Dondra (lighthouse), Galle (Dutch Fort) and Yala (National Park), these make easy day trips. Mirissa is a more relaxed alternative to the relatively developed and touristic beach towns of Unawatuna and Hikkaduwa and has one of Sri Lanka’s most beautiful beaches. JJ’s is the first project by me, JJ. I’m Australian born and raised, half Sri Lankan and have explored the world quite extensively as a budget traveller. You must still apply for an ETA via eta.gov.lk/slvisa prior to arriving in Sri Lanka. Visa on arrival is no longer possible.
