International Gem Mining Field Experience - A MINE TOUR-
From the Mountains of Passara to Sri Lanka’s Gem Heritage
Sri Lanka is internationally recognized for its gemstone heritage, with a long history of traditional gem mining and trading.
The Uva Province, with its mountains, natural landscapes, rural communities and tourism potential, provides an opportunity to develop a distinctive gem-based tourism experience in the Passara area.
The proposed Passara Gem Trail will introduce visitors to the story of Sri Lankan gemstones through a safe, guided and educational field experience.
The project will connect:

The core product will be a Gem Mining Field Experience, supported by an optional Supervised Practical Gem Recovery & Washing Experience.
