Kadjan Villa

Kadjan Villa Travellers lodge beside Pasarichenai beach, just outside Arugam Bay. Great getaway with privacy, for all travelers. Local style cabana.

We have two large suites and two individual local style cabanas for rent. All the lodge was build by the death and mute community of Pottuvil (masons, carpenters, and helpers) as an ongoing social project that we started since we opened in 2016. Pillar's in local teak logs; the roof skeleton in wood and covered in coconut leaf mesh. The walls are in wood and brick; on both sides (north and south)

there are two openings on the upper part of the walls allowing wind circulation and fresh air in the room; adding to that there is a ceiling fan for additional comfort. The attached private bathroom has an open roof and a small garden. The front porch is directly on the sand and has a shade where you can chill in hot hours. There are also outdoor showers, swings, and two chill-out huts. The garden is all in its original state, gold beach sand. There is a dining cabana for all guests; we serve meals and have a la carte menu, and organize barbecues at the property or at the beach.

Our Story

Kadjan Villa project was born out of a good friendship relationship that started in 2009.

Our project was launched in 2016 initially with 2 suites by converting an old villa to two mirrored suites. Suite Mar, and Sol share the same common porch but, both are completely separate; each is equipped with a king size bed (orthopedic spring mattress), mosquito net, AC, fan and bathroom with indoor garden. Suite sol can host 3 guest because has an additional individual bed.

In addition, the last 4 years we have been improving the place, and added a kitchen cabana, and two separate local style cabanas each one with double beds, mosquito net, fan and large individual roofless bathrooms.

All the 3 cabanas were built by the locals from the deaf and mute community in order to empower local community and help the more needed ones in the village.
