Our Story
Once upon a time...when I firstly arrived to Sri Lanka in 2013, I fell in love. I fell in love with local nature, food, good vibes, kindness and love of local people and a man. It was not easy but I have decided to change my ordinary life in the Czech Republic and finally do what I was dreaming about in my life...run my own place. And I did it! We did it! We built up an accommodation and restaurant by the sea and Sri Lanka became my second home.
Ohei Tangalle is located in the Southern Province and is considered to be the most southern point of Sri Lanka with unspoiled beaches and very green surrounding. The place became a famous turtle’s hatching point and that is a reason why we built up our place near a lagoon Rekawa instead of ruining beaches and endangering turtle’s house. Beach is still close only 10 minutes walk from our beautiful hotel. Also, we proudly take our customers to watch babies turtles on their first and the most difficult way from their sandy nest to the ocean. It is truly amazing experience.
Ohei is located 3 hours from the bustling city of Colombo and 90 minutes from the newly built Airport in Mattala. Yet it is not running, we offer a pick up/drop off taxi from the Colombo Airport. Once you get here to Ohei, you can choose from luxurious rooms in a main building or Eco cabanas near the lagoon in our private jungle corner. You can chill by the lagoon, swimming pool, on the garden, in the restaurant or rest in a hamack under the trees. If you feel like had enough of lazy days, we offer a range of tours to take you around and get to know the area well - such as to see elephants, temples, learn surfing, cooking local dishes, enjoy massage or kayaking through the mangroves.
