COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ministry of Transport and Highways announced that the issuance of temporary driving licenses to foreign nationals will commence today at the Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport.
A dedicated service window has been established at the airport to facilitate this process, allowing visitors to conveniently obtain temporary driving licenses upon entry.
Previously, such licenses were only available through the Department of Motor Traffic office in Werahera.
The new initiative aims to reduce both the time and expense involved, streamlining access for tourists and other foreign visitors.
The Ministry emphasized that this move is part of a broader effort to improve service efficiency and support international travelers with easier access to transportation within the country.
