On May 5th, members of the Uga Jungle Beach team visited T/T/Al Hamra Maha Vidyalayam to donate 100 durable chairs for the school’s historic auditorium, supporting over 440 students within the local community. With an investment of Rs. 250,905.00, this initiative was undertaken to help improve the infrastructure needed for a better learning environment and more comfortable shared spaces for students.

It was a privilege to witness the new seating being used immediately during the school assembly, transforming the auditorium into a more dignified and functional space for workshops, performances, and ceremonies. This initiative reflects our continued commitment to supporting the wellbeing and development of the communities around us.

Huge congratulations to Ms. Ishara Madushani from Uga Jungle Beach on securing second place in the Classic category at the National Bartenders Competition for the Cultural Triangle and East Coast region, competing among 35 talented participants.

With this outstanding achievement, she has earned her place in the semi-finals in Colombo, marking a historic milestone for Uga as the first female bartender from our team to reach this stage of the National Bartenders Competition.

We are incredibly proud of Ishara for her dedication, talent, and passion, and we look forward to cheering her on as she continues this remarkable journey.

On 7th April 2026, Uga Jungle Beach proudly handed over a dedicated girls’ washroom facility to Erakkandiya Sinhala School, supporting the dignity, wellbeing and education of 34 female students.

With an investment of LKR 675,000, the facility includes two private lockable cubicles, a dedicated water supply and sanitary disposal units, ensuring safe and hygienic menstrual health management. This initiative replaces the previously shared teacher washrooms, directly addressing challenges related to hygiene and school absenteeism.

The handover ceremony, thoughtfully organised by the school, was marked by vibrant student performances and a strong sense of community, reflecting a shared commitment to creating a more supportive and inclusive learning environment.

This International Day of Forests, Uga Jungle Beach partnered with the Forest Conservator Office of Trincomalee for a meaningful tree-planting initiative themed “Forests and the Economy.” The event highlighted the vital connection between healthy forests and sustainable livelihoods, with insights from a Forest Officer on the region’s ecological importance.

A total of 150 trees were planted, including 50 vibrant Ehela trees along the roadside and indigenous, economically valuable species such as Kumbuk, Mee, Karada, and Sandalwood across the resort grounds. This effort brought together 20 staff members, 7 guests, and 3 Forest Department representatives, all working hand in hand to foster a greener, more sustainable future. Together, Uga Jungle Beach is proud to contribute to preserving Sri Lanka’s rich forest heritage.
