Citrus Leisure PLC proudly marked a meaningful milestone with the inauguration of the Citrus School of Hotel Management, celebrated at the Mandarin Shore Grand Ballroom of Citrus Waskaduwa.
Launched as part of the Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, Steuart Senehasa, and in celebration of the 190th anniversary of George Steuart & Co, the program was designed to empower young individuals with the skills, discipline, and confidence required to succeed in the hospitality industry.
After six months of intensive training, 18 graduates proudly stepped forward as industry-ready professionals, specializing in key hospitality disciplines including F&B Service, Culinary Arts, and Front Office Operations. The program also recognized outstanding excellence, with one student receiving the Best Student Award for exceptional performance.
The occasion was graced by members of the Group’s senior leadership, including Mr. Chandana Talwatte – Executive Director / Chief Executive Officer of Citrus Leisure PLC, Mr. Mani Sugathapala – Director Sales, Citrus Leisure PLC, Mrs. Achala Silva – Director Group Human Resources & Administration, George Steuart & Company Ltd, and Mr. Thivanka Thabrew – Group Head of Human Resources, Citrus Leisure PLC, whose presence reflected the organization’s commitment to nurturing future talent for the hospitality industry.
More than a training program, the Citrus School of Hotel Management represents a journey of transformation where young individuals evolve from untapped potential into confident professionals ready to pursue meaningful careers in hospitality.
Inspired by the remarkable impact of this initiative, Citrus Leisure looks forward to expanding this program in the future, continuing its commitment to empowering youth and strengthening Sri Lanka’s hospitality industry.
