VACANCY: IT SPECIALIST
Blue Mountain Inn is seeking a skilled and motivated IT Specialist to join our team and provide reliable IT support across our hotel operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide technical support to staff and resolve hardware and software issues.
• Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot computers, printers, networks and other IT equipment.
• Maintain and monitor the hotel’s network infrastructure, internet connectivity and systems.
• Provide technical support for hotel management and operational systems, including PMS (Property Management Systems), POS (Point of Sale) and payroll/HR systems.
• Manage user accounts, access permissions, backups and basic cyber security measures.
• Monitor IT equipment and ensure systems are operational and secure.
• Assist with the implementation, maintenance and integration of new IT systems.
• Maintain accurate records of IT assets, equipment and maintenance.
• Train and assist employees on the proper use of IT systems and equipment.
• Liaise with external IT service providers and suppliers when necessary.
• Ensure timely resolution of IT-related incidents and minimize system downtime.
Minimum Requirements
• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• At least 2–3 years’ relevant experience in IT support or a similar position.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office and network administration.
• Knowledge of database systems and hotel management/POS systems will be an added advantage.
• Good understanding of cyber security, data protection and backup procedures.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and respond effectively to urgent technical issues.
• Experience in the hospitality industry will be an added advantage.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Must be willing to relocate.
