Simplicity.
[HISTORY]
In 1961, Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre BergĂ© asked the graphic designer Cassandre to design the houseâs logo.
Born to French parents in Ukraine, Adolphe Jean Marie Mouron, who adopted the pseudonym Cassandre, was one of the worldâs greatest graphic designers during the interwar period. He was appreciated for his synthetic, geometrical style and was sought after by major names, such as Christian Dior.
For Yves Saint Laurent, he created a monogram of three simple intertwined initials, which was elegant and modern just like the young man.
