Peter Breslow and his wife Jessica R Goldstein were guests in Morocco last year with their twin daughters. They had traveled around the world but never to Morocco. We were thrilled to show the country to them and they have become part of our Moroccan family.

Both Jessica and Peter had careers at NPR and Peter has written a book about his experiences as a senior producer for NPRs All Things Considered and Weekend Edition.

After a long day…or two?…I’m in my apartment listening to the call to prayer, horns honking, and the AC trying to pump cool air into this place. Aside from the call to prayer, I might get confused and think I’m at my condo in Minneapolis!

Drove from Casablanca to Marrakech, just under 3 hours, and saw nothing indicative of an earthquake except dozens of trucks loaded with blankets and mattresses plus small vans w Moroccan flags draped over their fronts delivering goods.

Tomorrow I will visit Riad Baya and Villa Arabia.

The goods arrived today and now working on packing everything up to bring with me on Sunday.

With a SMALL portion of the money I received from your generous offerings to the Moroccan people, I purchased sleeping bag inserts iand 2-piece long underwear sets for boys, girls, men, and women in sizes x-small, small, medium, large, and a few extra large. With the other portion, I will buy goods to disperse in Morocco.

Your gifts keep coming in and I am deeply touched and emotional with each one received. To all of you who have reached out with kind words, prayers, offerings to help, and gifts of money, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Although this is a tragic event, Moroccans need you. We are a nation reliant upon tourism.
