Tsara Camp Tsara Camp is a tented Lodge located in the highlands of the Fianarantsoa Province, near to Ambalavao between Tsaranoro Valley and Andrigintra National Park.

The Tsara Camp lies in the Tsaranoro Valley with the Tsaranoro Mountain (800m) on one side and the giant mountain chains of Andringitra National Park on the other side. The camp offers perfect comfort in completely secluded settings. Accommodation is provided in 15 tents, each with a floor space of 16m². Each tent has two simple beds or a double one, bedside-table and possibility to hang up clothe

s. Fully equipped bathrooms are ensuite with solar heated water and individual toilets. Lighting is provided by generator. At the centre of the camp a 90m² tent includes a restaurant, relaxing and sitting area, which offers unlimited filtered water, tea, coffee and an always filled fruit basket. A full breakfast is served from 7am to 8.30am to help keep you fit throughout the day, especially for those who are planing hikes and excursions. Beverages include tea, coffee and hot chocolate and are served with toasted bread, butter, jam, honey, nut-chocolate cream, peanut butter, cheese, sausage, eggs and Malagasy specialties (depending of availability). Lunch is served in the camp from 12.30pm to 2pm and includes a selection of delicious salad, cheese, fish and fresh fruit. For full day excursions with a picnic, sandwiches, cheese, eggs, tomatoes and fresh fruit are prepared. Dinner is a complete menu including starter, main dish and dessert. Please inform us in advance if you prefer vegetarian food. The cooking is simple but rich in taste and offers the chance to experience the Malagasy food culture.

Tsara camp lies in the middle of the Tsaranoro Valley, with 18 permanent tented rooms with all comfort.
We offer guided walks, hikes, the ascent of Pic Boby, community based tourism, lemur watching nearby the camp.
We have 2 accessible Bungalows and do provide excursion by Joelette for disabled guests.

Après quelques voyages en Afrique du Sud, l’équipe Boogie Pilgrim s’est dit que la présence de Girafes et d’Éléphants n’etait pas indispensable pour construire un camp de toile façon Safari ! En 2000, nous avons donc importé une centaine de mètres de bâche et conçu nos propres tentes sur place, pour créer le Tsara Camp dans une region inconnue.

TSARA CAMP jouit d’un cadre magnifique et varié, illuminé par les lumières rouges et ocres, une vraie ambiance de western! Pour renforcer cette impression, il est construit en demi-cercle, la même disposition des chariots du Far West autour du feu de camp ! Le Tsaranoro est un paradis pour les amoureux de la nature, de la montagne et de la photographie. La marche, l’escalade et le trekking sont les activités possibles pour pimenter votre aventure dans la vallée!

After several trips to South Africa, we have been convinced that Giraffes and Elephants are not essential to have safari accommodation in Madagascar! In 2000, we imported a hundred meters of canvas and made our own tents to build the first tented camp of the island: Tsara Camp.
