🗣Meet Dimitar Popov, a professional UIAA mountain and ski guide and rock-climbing instructor for more than 10 years. A young man and a visionary on how to develop the Mavrovo region.🙂

📯His love for the mountain and his vision to help the Mavrovo region made him sell his property in Skopje and move to Mavrovo in 2016. In the beginning, he bought a house where he made a mountain lodge Ski Hut Gorica -Mavrovo for accommodation for skiers, mountaineers, and groups that I guide in the mountains.

🗣„When I moved to Mavrovo in 2016 I established a company named Mavrovo Outdoors with a ski touring guiding program and product including multi-day guided ski tours with accommodation. Along with the Macedonian Sport Climbing Federation, Mavrovo Outdoors have opened the first rock climbing crags and bolted routes that made Mavrovo a destination for rock climbers. Ski Hut Gorica hosted some of the most famous climbers in the world as Adam Ondra, Jerome Pouverau, and Jonathan Crison. They visited Mavrovo to assist in the development and promotion of Mavrovo National Park as a climbing hot spot destination“ emphasize Dimitar.
🗣„Aside from the climbing, during the summer I offer guided single and multi-day hiking tours promoting Mount Korab and Bistra as an adventure tourism destination. My life mission is to develop and promote Mavrovo as an eco-tourism destination that is worldwide famous for its ski touring, rock climbing, and hiking potential. As a guide and explorer, I have been restless and established and mapped dozens of ski touring routes, as well as bolted dozens of climbing routes and sectors to develop and improve the climbing potential, must note all from my personal pocket. Mavrovo is now getting a very popular ski touring destination in winter, while during the summer is on the travel route to hundreds of rock climbers, all of this is happening because the right moves were made through hard work enriching the outdoor activities potential “. Our Story

Ski Hut Gorica is a mountain lodge founded in 2016 by Dimitar Popov, a local rock climber, backcountry skier and mountain explorer who left the city to dedicate to the Mavrovian development. Very soon it became a shared story and business with his life partner Cosima Von Meer, a German adventurer and yoga instructor with whom together they live the spirit and the story of the Mavrovian mountain wilderness.

SKI HUT GORICA -Mountain Lodge is providing services and accommodation for the outdoor and free spirits such as skiers, rock climbers, hikers, backcountry skiers, yoga spirits and mountain bikers. -The hut has 16 beds, private and dorm rooms, guest kitchen, hut food, lounge room with blasting fireplace, free wi-fi, DSL TV, 24-7 hot water, guest kitchen, camp space, outdoor fireplace and lake-view yoga platform.

During the winter Ski Hut Gorica is fully covered with snow, like a snow fairy tale with a beautiful overview of the lake, ideal for adventure groups, Ski retreats and team buildings. We heat on combined system of wood and pellets in order to provide maximum comfort for our guests.

In Summertime the hut is hidden in the deep and green Mavrovian forest, enjoying the shade and the coolness of the nature.

Guidebooks for the Macedonian crags are available at the Ski hut.

___Ski Touring Are you experienced ski tourer or back country skier? Beginner? Or even first timer? No matter, you are on the only and best place in Mavrovo that is a backcountry ski base. We are providing guided tours for all levels of experience, ski touring information and emergency service for your ski touring gear. At our hut you can find the best information about the local backcountry ski areas for ski touring and freeride skiing which we are restlessly working of developing them and updating the gps track and data in the past few years. It will be our great pleasure to invite you to experience the ski touring story of the Mavrovian wilderness.

___Hiking trips One of the best ways to feel Mavrovo and explore its vast terrain and beauty is experiencing a hiking adventure. Single or a multi day adventure we have the right package for you. Guided by very experienced local guides with 8+ years of experience of hiking in the particular terrain, we guarantee you ultimate and unforgettable epic experience of the slopes of mount Korab, Desat or Bistra.

___Mountain Biking Mavrovo National Park is ultimate place for mountain biking adventures offering a wide range of trails from the one for beginner to the hardest track for super experienced bikers. ___Slacklining Have you imagined yourselves walking on 1m above the ground a stretched line between two points? Putting your balance and athleticism to a challenge and struggle between the conscious body motorics and the unconscious body reactions? This is called slacklimimg and represents an alternative sport activity, highly beneficial to the body coordination and mind reactions. Introduce yourselves with slacklining on our slack sessions and broader your perspective for your personal abilities.

Terrain Transportation to Mount Korab HIKE area The starting point for the hike to mount Korab is at Strezimir border tower, 25km remote, deep in the mountains, from which half-way is off-road -not suitable and damaging for regular vehicle. We also check you in in the border police, we provide all the formal necessities from the National Park, as well as we share with you our personal GPS track Our Terrain Transport service consist of drop-off in the morning and pick -up in the afternoon, and in meanwhile being on stand by for any unexpected emergencies -the best choice for carefree hike.

AIRPORT SHUTTLE____ If you are in a hurry -don`t worry You don't want to loose whole day in a hassle dealing with public transport or finding taxi? Rather enjoy till the last moment and board one of our vehicles and we will transfer you directly to the airport
