This hostel features many old traditional statues and puppets, the atmosphere at ShannKalay will give you a great feeling of Myanmar if it is your first day in Yangon. All our rooms have a name of a city in Myanmar, so you can learn geography while finding your room. The streets bordering ShannKalay Hostel are silent at night, you can peacefully relax with a beer on our balcony. Beds at ShannKalay

are near the floor, like a nest made to dive-in after an exhausting sightseeing day, you will probably find our mattresses more comfortable than average hotels in Myanmar because we care about the quality of your sleep. Shannkalay hostel is located in the centre of downtown,Yangon and very quiet road,facing a tree-lined street. Nearby the hostel,there are many restaurants,convenience stores,local markets,street foods,clinic,pharmacies. For sightseeing,there is a famous pagoda
named Botataung Paya and Botataung Jetty(for sunset) (10min walking)from the hostel. And it is far 6 km from the Shwedagon Pagoda, the largest pagoda in Myanmar. Pansodan ferry terminal is 2 km away. And Sule Paya ,city hall,beautiful and old colonial buildings(20min walking). Yangon Central Railway Station and Yangon International Airport are 1.5 km and 17.7 km away from the property. And there are many local bus stops(YBS....) near by the hostel.

# # # # # # # Shannkalay means "Little boy from Shan state". It is the cute nickname of the owner when he moved to Yangon from Shan state.
