We think about our home every single day.

Not just the landscape, though the Gobi is extraordinary. We think about what it takes to be here responsibly: running on solar power, growing our own produce in a greenhouse in the middle of the desert, being the first lodge in Mongolia to get rid of single-use plastic water bottles for good.

None of it happened all at once. It has been years of small decisions adding up to something we are genuinely proud of.

The Gobi deserves our best, and we will keep trying to give it just that ♻️

Our Head Chef, Chef Munkhtsetseg, has a way of making people feel like they have been cooking Mongolian food their whole lives 🥟

Her cooking class is one of those afternoons that guests never quite expect to love as much as they do. You are working with ingredients from our greenhouse, following recipes that have been passed through generations, and somewhere between the chopping and the tasting you realize that you understand this place a little better than you did that morning.

By the time you sit down to eat what you made together, it feels like the best meal you have ever had.
