At Liyela Retreat we are committed to offer a magical and memorable experience to all of our guests. This includes acting responsibly in situations like the once we are currently experiencing. There is no clearer wakeup call that the times we are living in are fragile.

We are grateful for all your thoughtful queries about us, amidst these unprecedented times in the global, pandemic scourge of Covid-19.

Our priority is to guarantee the health and well-being of our guests, visitors, team members and local community. Although there has been no sign of Covid-19 on Maafushi Island thus far, we are nevertheless maintaining the highest level of care and upholding the most stringent of measures, especially following the government's directive for all guesthouses to suspend tourist check-ins for a period of 14 days effective from 17th March.

We are safe and healthy, and our local community in Maafushi Island is very much aware and committed; taking every precaution to ensure the safety of the larger public as well, so as to diminish the wider impacts of this global crisis.

Health is of utmost importance, therefore we appreciate your concern and understand those of you who opted to postpone or change their travel plans.

We wish you all safety, good health and strength through these trying times; and thank you for your thoughts, messages and continued support.

We look forward to welcoming you very soon, when it is safe!
