Say hello to one of Himmafushi’s most well known faces, a Quran and Islamic Studies teacher Absal. Absal is currently working as a religious facilitator at the DTRC and manages the only registered Tuition Centre in Himmafushi where he teaches Quran to the local children.

Alongside imparting religious values within the island community, Absal also drives the community spirit through an NGO he co-founded called Hiyaa. Dedicating his life for community empowerment and education has made Absal a busy persona, yet he finds the right balance between family, friends and work.
