OUR UNDERSTNDING
Crossroads Hotels Lilongwe believe that even animal deserve good quality life and should be treated humanely. We work for humane care of animals in all our supply chain. We understand that although Crossroads Hotels Lilongwe does not operate farms, our desire is to making sure all our suppliers aim at prioritizing animal welfare and also requiring that their animals are treated are raised with care to maximize various benefits.
As Crossroads Hotels Lilongwe, we are aware that animal welfare includes; naturalness, where animals are able to perform specific behaviors in a natural way, health and productivity; where health animals are provided with quality shelter, feed and water and emotional well-being; where positive experiences are improved and bad experience reduced
Therefore, Crossroads Hotels Lilongwe will continue to work with like-minded organizations such as the National Youth Network on Climate Change -NYNCC, our suppliers on promoting best practices that aimed at eliminating all painful procedures and will strive to promote required production practices at all level.
The Hotels will also enhance its effort in supporting the housing designs that allow animals to perform their natural behaviors for example the cage free farming practices.
OUR OBSERVATION
Lately, we have observed an increase public interest in farming and animal care and many consumers desire farming practices that match their values and expectations
Good animal welfare, will result into environmental sustainability and also most importantly healthy people and well managed farms, reduced waste and assured of safe and nutritious food supply.

At Crossroads Hotels - Lilongwe, we believe that animal welfare matters and for every animal in the food chain. That’s why we are committed to sourcing 100% cage-free eggs and by 2030;

As one of the leading actors in the hospitality industry, we are committed to sources and procure CAGE – FREE eggs and chicken products to meet the international demands and support the campaign championed by NYNCC
