Come and stay with us at Kabuntus Ecocamp in Lilongwe. Situated in a tranquil environment with over 80% indigenous tree coverage. We provide a number of accomodation options . Rent a tent , bring your own tent , stay in our locally constructed 4 bedded reed mat dormitory with outside showers (occasionally warm !)and composting toilets . Our small one roomed open plan self contained cottage has a ' real ' toilet , hot shower and equally small kitchen with fridge gas stove and micowave. At kabuntus we are committed to maintaining the ecosystem. Please Note this not for the fainthearted . We keep our spiders and webs, hedgehogs, praying mantis , frogs ( Mozambiquan rain frogs amongst others) which keep the mosquito population to a minimum
For the bird lovers we have resident barn owls, pearl spotted owlets, variable sunbirds , drongos, lilac breasted rollers to name but a few . We recycle , upcycle ,repurpose as much as we possible.
There is an extensive in house library that you can browse through, pick up a book and read whilst you are lounging in our hammocks or in a rocking chair in the bar or picnic table under the trees in the orchard. There is an arts and crafts corner where you can excercise your creative side and various board games.
And for those who love coffee we provide locally sourced Geisha coffee from small holder farmers that we hand roast on the premises. You can collect your own eggs for breakfast from our own chickens and be escorted by two very friendy dogs ! We have an outside kitchen for dormitory guests and campers with a choice of gas or sustainable charcoal /wood .
