As the days are approaching the Luwawa International Mountain Bike Race 2023.

There are generous individual monetary prizes from this year’s sponsor, Zimatha Timbers, for the first three elite men and the first three elite women to finish the course. In addition, the prestigious “Selmar Gassen Memorial Trophy” will be
presented as the Team prize. The miniature silver replica mountain bike will be taken home by the first three members of a registered team to finish with the lowest average time over the course.

The Luwawa Wilderness Trail takes hikers from Luwawa Forest Lodge, high up on the Viphya Plateau, to Kachere Kastle located on the sandy shores of Lake Malawi. The Trail descends the African Rift escarpment, roughly following the ridge line over Kawandama Mountain, (2,000m), affording amazing panoramic views

Our knowledgeable guides will help you spot the abundance of flora and fauna along the way. On completion the reward of reaching the sandy shores of Lake Malawi will be well deserved.
