Beautiful flowers in our garden at Beachfront Paradise Boutique Hotel are blooming as they wait for the first rain to arrive. Although it has been almost seven months without rain in our area, Playa Agua Blanca never truly becomes dry thanks to vast underground water systems. Even after such a long dry season, our well still has plenty of water.
Banana trees, mango trees, coconut palms, and bougainvillea remain green and full of fruit and flowers because their deep roots reach underground moisture year-round. In Playa Agua Blanca the water table lies relatively close to the surface, allowing tropical vegetation to thrive long after the rains stop. That is why the landscape here stays surprisingly lush and green while other regions turn dry and brown.
