Today, five of the dozens of banana trees growing in our garden at Beachfront Paradise Hotel decided to produce fruit at the same time! 🍌🌴
In Spanish, bananas and plantains are commonly called plátanos, and Oaxaca is home to a surprising variety-more than a dozen types can be found in local markets.
The variety we grow here is Plátano Perón. It has five distinctive sides, is a little wider, and is less sweet than the familiar Cavendish banana. But freshly picked from our own garden? It’s hard to beat. 🌿🍌
This is just one of the little pleasures of staying at Beachfront Paradise-where the garden, the ocean, and nature are part of your everyday experience.
