The development of this hillside property has progressed over many years resulting in garden terraces, water containment storage systems, a corral/shed, and a propagating greenhouse along with other structures such as a home, studio, work shed and garage. All along, trees, vegetable gardens and ground covers have been planted. Creating a sustainable lifestyle didn't occur to me until a few years a

go when I noticed that I would rather spend time and money building a chicken shed than trekking into town to buy my eggs. I also began to find satisfaction in cooking, baking, and canning from the produce in the garden .I'm generally in awe of this area, the magical mountains of Michoacan, a region that seems to exude a profound energy creating a sense of wholeness and well-being. The dynamic and expansive view plays a strong role in connecting spirit with nature. Similarly, the graciousness of the people and their long history with and dependence on the land is a testament to their own spiritual connectedness. I’ve come to believe that developing a deep sense of responsibility to the caretaking of animals, plants, and the environment is a worthy and challenging endeavor.
