Here’s what Heather wrote (record stay 18 days - 10/12 to 10/30/20) “Where to start..... Wow. We just spent 18 days at Villa de Los Mangos. From the beginning Tim was incredibly helpful, and flexible regarding our travel plans. We were both working remotely and our kids were in virtual school. Tim bought a generator to make sure we would not lose internet in case of a power outage. The internet was perfect the entire time, even with four computers, ipads and phones online. This area of Mexico is rural- and that is what makes Playa Saladitas so charming. The road is 2 miles from a small village where we shopped to get our groceries. We said we really did not need the rental car but we did a few day trips (40mins) into Zihuatanejo which made the car rental worth it. We were able to shop for everything we needed in the village- groceries, fresh tortillas, roasted chicken, fruits and veggies...etc. The ocean was beautiful. We swam and surfed the point break (10min walk to the point) everyday. We ate at many small restaurants along the beach but kept coming back to our favorite "illianet" literally a 2 min walk down the beach from Villa de Los Mangos. The point break is a perfect longboard wave- and excellent for beginners- the kids (ages 14 and 17) and myself surfed easily and without intimidation. People in the water were very friendly and it was nice to see mexicans surfing alongside. There are two surf schools at the point offering ample longboard rentals. There is bigger surf on the outside which my husband enjoyed. A few mornings he hired a boat to bigger breaks about 20 mins away. There are lots of options. The House! Wow. It is a work of art. Tim used local artists to help design and build his home. It is beautiful and a true Mexican experience. It was spacious and incredibly well designed. We were only 4 people but the Villa could easily fit more. The two main bedrooms have AC. The loft has a really fantastic spiral staircase with a queen , 2 single beds and a couple floor mattresses to hang out on- the spiral staircase continues up to a third floor palapa. The palapa has amazing breezes in the afternoon and it is perfect for morning yoga. The lighting up there is lovely in the evening and it has a 360 view offering ocean sunsets to mountain sunrises. It is also amazing to watch thunderstorms roll in! There are a lot of crazy lights all over the house---and it was really fun to decide what kind of lightening we wanted each night! The master bedroom has a private bath and a very comfortable king size bed with lots of space for storage. Tim even gave us room on the surfboard rack to store our boards in the garage. Both bathrooms are beautiful. There is ample hot water and Tim supplies soap/shampoo. The kitchen is perfect and has everything you need. We cooked about half our meals and there were lots of spices/oil/coffee for our use. There is a full size fridge as well as a full size freezer in the pantry (Tim has a few drawers) but overall there is a vast amount of space. They supply all the drinking water which is a HUGE benefit of staying here. Ari and Noe- I don't know where to begin with this incredible couple. They are so caring, compassionate and kind. They come each day to clean, take care of the property and basically do whatever you need. They can buy groceries, give advice on where to go, cook, do laundry, etc.. We really enjoyed getting to know them. Three to four nights a week we had them cook for us and the dinners were all outstanding. I am mostly vegetarian (GF), my daughter is allergic to seafood, and my son and husband pretty much like everything. They cooked without blinking an eye to these complications. The food was fresh, local, and each dinner they made a fresh juice from scratch. I will truly miss these meals- it was so nice to chat and relax as they cleaned up! They can cook any meal you'd like not just dinner- breakfasts were as equally amazing. Ari can cook using your groceries or she can buy everything for you. Meals were very affordable and the food was tastier than eating out The grounds were beautiful- fresh fruit trees (depending on season) mangos and limes. We loved the pool and the palapa with the hammock. We often ate out on the patio. The lighting was beautiful at night. The path to the public beach access was just across the street. Despite what people say of Mexico, this area was very safe. We had computers, phones, other devices, cash in the house, etc.. and it was fine. We did not ever feel harassed or bothered on the beach either, the locals were kind, helpful, and friendly. This part of Mexico is a true gem and we will absolutely come back. Villa de Los Mangos was an incredible experience and a much needed break from our chaotic lives. Although Mexico does have an increase in COVID cases, there were not any in this area, it is small, remote, not densely populated or high in tourist turnover. We felt safe going out, we wore masks in town but not on the beach. With open air eating and tables well spaced apart it was not necessary. Thank you Tim, Noe and Ari for a wonderful stay, our experience would not have been the same without you all. We will be back!”
