We are La Ventana's first, and most beautiful resort, founded in 1993. Summer activities include Sport fishing, Kayak Fishing, Spearfishing, (SUP) Stand Up Paddle boarding, Scuba, Snorkeling, Mountain Biking, Swimming, and Hiking. Winter activities are all of the above, plus Kitesurfing and Windsurfing.

Our Story

Kirk Robinson founded Captain Kirk’s in 1993, La Ventana's very first beachfront resort and Kite School. He operated it very successfully with partner Kitty for 25 years and retired in January 2019.

Now called Pelican Reef Ventana Beachfront Resort & Kite School, it includes a variety of lodging options from stand alone-studios to 1,2 and 4 BR houses and is now operated by an association of owners from the US and Canada.

We have an IKO kite school on location as well as a beach bar/restaurant exclusive to our guests.
