The cover of Debí Tirar Más Fotos by Bad Bunny said it all: plastic chairs, memories of long conversations,
and laughter that never fades.

At La Betulia, we have our own version of that icon:
colorful chairs, slow sunsets, and life happening right there.

Greetings from Oaxaca 🌺🪑🤍✨

The Virgen de la Soledad is one of the most important Marian devotions in Oaxaca and is considered the patroness of Oaxaca City. She is especially associated with mourning, consolation, and accompaniment in moments of solitude and loss.

Her image is venerated in the Basílica de la Virgen de la Soledad, near the historic center of Oaxaca City. The Virgen is traditionally dressed in black or deep-colored garments, symbolizing grief, compassion, and maternal protection.

During the festivities in honor of the Virgen de la Soledad, the Chinas Oaxaqueñas take part in processions and calendas, walking through the streets of Oaxaca City dressed in their traditional embroidered blouses and wide, colorful skirts, carrying baskets decorated with flowers, doves, and religious motifs on their heads

Noche de Rábanos in Oaxaca, one of the truly unique experiences of Oaxaca ✨

The creativity, patience, and detail that artists put into these pieces is incredible. Here’s some of their beautiful art made with rábanos, flor inmortal, and totomoxtle 🌿🎋

November fades, but its memories stay lit—like candles that refuse to go out. 🕯️✨
Day of the Dead always brings us back to what matters: the scent of copal, the colors that speak for those who are gone, and the moments that remind us why we honor life through remembrance. 🌼💛

Until next year, when the marigolds bloom again and the paths of cempasúchil guide us home once more. 🌿🌺✨

Thank you to everyone who chose to stay with us during this beautiful season.
We are fully booked for next year’s Day of the Dead, but we still have availability at our sister hotel, Central Xochimilco.
If you wish to experience this celebration in an authentic and heartfelt way, please contact us. 🤍🏡
