We discovered a charming French restaurant this weekend just a 3 minute walk away, and the culinary experience was exceptional! Here are some shots of their dishes, all of which were delicious. The foie gras in particular was fantastic.

We’ve been quietly building something special in Playa… and we’re finally ready to share it ☀️🌴

Welcome to Avalon Del Sol ☀️

These aren’t the professional photos yet, those are coming soon, but we actually wanted you to see the space as it really lives today. Morning coffee on the terrace, lazy afternoons after the beach, late dinners, movie nights, open windows, warm air… a place meant to be lived in, not just looked at.

Starting April 2026 we will officially begin accepting bookings.

If you’ve ever dreamed about spending time in Playa del Carmen, walking to cafes, relaxing in the sun, and having a comfortable home base instead of a hotel - this is exactly what we created.

Bienvenidos a casa 🌞

Just around the corner there is an amazing Peruvian family-owned restaurant called Inka that is not to be missed.

From their Google listing:

The mystique of Peruvian cuisine intertwines with Inca culture, creating a gastronomic experience that transcends time. Each dish reflects ancestral culinary wisdom, using Peruvian ingredients with both ancient and contemporary techniques. From the aroma of chili peppers to the flavors of Andean products, every bite connects with the food rituals of the Incas. Definitely an experience you won’t want to skip! The tuna tataki was particularly amazing - seared tuna slices in a ceviche-style ginger sauce with sweet potato and passion fruit.

As we get closer to opening for bookings at Avalon Del Sol, we want to start sharing some of the places you can enjoy right outside your door. One of the things we love most about this location is how easy it is to step out for a wide variety of incredible food options.

Our first spotlight is one of our favorites:

📍 220 metres door-to-door, about a 3-minute walk

This is authentic Italian comfort done right. A wood-fired oven, thin-crust pizzas with blistered edges, rich pastas, fresh ingredients, and a solid wine and cocktail list - all in a lively, warm and welcoming space.

Some of the things we keep coming back for:

• Wood-fired Neapolitan-style pizzas with fresh mozzarella and prosciutto 🍕
• Handmade pasta dishes with rich sauces 🍝
• Great wine options and classic Italian desserts 🍷
• Live music most evenings, adding to the atmosphere and ambiance 🎶

It’s usually pretty busy, and that’s honestly part of the charm. It’s popular with locals and visitors alike, making it a great spot for date nights, group dinners, or relaxed evenings out. If it’s full, we recommend putting your name on the waitlist and grabbing a drink nearby on 5th Avenue, another perk of staying right in the centre of it all.

Before you even step inside our home, you’ll feel it.

Our gated entrance is secure, calm, and beautifully maintained. Guests and residents check in and out through a monitored access point, with cameras throughout the property and a staff member on site 24 hours a day. It sets the tone immediately. Safe, private, and thoughtfully cared for.

Once inside, the heart of the community opens up.

The palapa is a true gathering space. Open air, spacious, and surrounded by lush gardens, it feels like a resort lounge rather than a common area. Comfortable seating invites morning coffee, afternoon conversations, or quiet evenings under the palms. It is one of those places you naturally gravitate toward without planning to.

Just steps away, the pools steal the show.

Two large swimming pools, full sun, crystal clear, and immaculately maintained. Perfect for cooling off in the heat, floating with a book, grabbing a tan poolside, or starting your day with a few peaceful laps. This is where vacation days slow down and the heat melts away.

Before & After ✨

We gave our kitchen peninsula a little soul upgrade using a custom Talavera-inspired tile wrap and it completely changed the feel of this space.

We wanted something that felt authentically Mexican, colourful but not loud, and still clean enough to keep that modern beach-house vibe 🏖️ 🌊
