California-born & Montréal-México City based, Alex Tibbitts is The Bionic Harpist — a trailblazing electroacoustic artist known for fusing harp performance with real-time sound processing & sound design. Her name reflects a pivotal artistic transformation, marking a bold intersection of tradition and technology.
Since launching her solo project The Bionic Harpist in 2020, Alex has captivated audiences internationally, performing at leading venues and festivals including the National Arts Centre of Canada, MARCO, MUTEK Montréal and Mexico, WARPXX and the RE:Flux Sound Art Festival. Her work as a soloist, producer, and creative director is defined by innovation and collaboration.
She released her debut album IMPRESSIONS in Fall 2025

Nacida en California y radicada entre Montreal y la Ciudad de México, Alex Tibbitts es The Bionic Harpist —una artista electroacústica pionera, conocida por fusionar la interpretación del arpa con el diseño sonoro y el procesamiento de audio en tiempo real. Su nombre refleja una transformación artística decisiva, marcando una audaz intersección entre la tradición y la tecnología.
Desde el lanzamiento de su proyecto en solitario The Bionic Harpist en 2020, Alex ha cautivado a audiencias internacionales, presentándose en recintos y festivales de primer nivel como el Centro Nacional de Artes de Canadá, el MARCO, MUTEK Montreal y México, WARPXX y el Festival de Arte Sonoro RE:Flux. Su trabajo como solista, productora y directora creativa se define por la innovación y la colaboración.
Lanzó su álbum debut, IMPRESSIONS, en el otoño de 2025.
