This telescope-headed bronze chair sits on the Malecón in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

It is part of La Rotonda del Mar, a surreal public sculpture installation by Mexican artist Alejandro Colunga.

Created in 1996, the work turns ordinary seating into a strange circle of bronze thrones — part human, part sea creature, part dream object.

On this chair, stars, fish, shells, and a small sun-like face cover the back, while the figure looks out toward the sea through a telescope-shaped head.
