Our Story

WELCOME TO APARTMENTS IN PARADISE, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Telephone: (52) (322) 225 1684 E-mail: [email protected] or [email protected] Street address: HEROES DE LA PATRIA # 186 Colonia Valentin Gomez Farias. The house is a detached private home located in a traditional Mexican neighbourhood (Palo Seco neighbourhood of PV) with a sprinkle of Gr**gos here and there. This area of Puerto Vallarta has been the business centre and heart of the town since the early 1940 s, long before Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton fell in love and moved here. It still has the old town feel to it with hundreds of small shops, family owned businesses and services. You will have a chance to mingle with the local families, even join in on their street parties and activities. The three story house is separated into 4 light and breezy apartments. Each apt. has its own separate entrance. We rent the 2 apts. on the first floor for long term rentals and we rent the large 2 bed. ground floor apt. by the year. The ground floor apartment is not available for rent at this time. We live upstairs in the penthouse of the building. "WE" are a husband & wife who moved here as a family with our two children from Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Canada back in 1998. At the gated entrance, there is a pleasant shady tiled patio with table and chairs, hammock and fountain for everyone s use surrounded by tropical plants and trees. The neighbourhood is VERY friendly and safe. Most everyone on our cobbled street own their own home. It is a family oriented area with a few Gr**go business owners that have lived here for decades. The bus, “Lopez Ruta B”, stops outside of the front gate of the house. The Ramblasses bus stops at the end of the street. Both will take you to and from the hub of the tourist area, Malecon and Zona Romantica for less than one dollar each way. If you want to stay clear of tourist bars and tourists as well as timeshare salesmen, there are plenty of friendly, welcoming places around these Mexican neighbourhoods for you to explore. A 24 hr. taxi station is at the end of the street. Multiple services on this street or next block are: laundry (wash, dry & fold service), several internet services, movie rentals, pizza cafes, electronic repair shops, restaurants, Coffee shops, Seafood market, daily fruit & veg. market, several street food and taco stands, Butcher shops, sports bars, salsa dancing studio, martial arts dojo, 24 hour Pharmacy. 24 hour Doctor (that does house-calls if you´re too sick to go to his office on the next street) health clinics. We are close to three hospitals, several vets, clothing boutiques, Beauty Parlours, Los Mangos library is less than a 10 minute walk. There are 3 corner stores, daycare centre, Fruiteria and small family owned tortilla factory on our street where you can buy freshly made breads and tortillas. A couple of good gardening centres as well as Extreme Adventure Paintball are very close. Donkeys and goats are often seen walking along the cobbled streets in this area. Lots of roosters too! As I said, it's a "typical" Mexican neighbourhood. This is the REAL PV. It is not a typical tourist area, therefore you do not pay tourist prices. The Tianguis market (which is the largest in PV) is set up at the end of this street from early morning until dusk every Saturday year round. A Tianguis market is not a typical tourist market where you will be pressured to part with your money, but you will be very welcome to stroll around and explore their wares. It is quite an experience. It sells everything from live chickens to clothing to CD s/DVD s to food, fresh fruit/vegetables, to household items, tools, plants, furniture and everything in between. There is virtually every kind of store, shop and service within a very short walking distance from the house. The Vallarta municipal sports stadium with jogging tracks, skateboard ramps, soccer and baseball fields etc. is less than a 10 minute walk (less than a 5 minute jog) The stadium is home to many events year round. There are three gyms including ´Vivefit fitness centre and swim lanes´ a few minutes walk from the house. Popular restaurants such as ´Ernesto´s Good Grub´ is less than a 10 min. walk. ´Blake ´s Restaurant´ is less than a 15 minute walk. ´Los Mu***os Brewing- Francisco Villa´ is a few minutes walk as well as Lattey Bistro Cafe Restaurant and many others. We are very close to all the movie cinemas as well as shopping malls. We are close to supermarkets Mega, La Comer, Soriana Plaza Caracol and Soriana Pitillal. Costco and Walmart is close-by on Francisco Villa. Every kind of store and business can be found on Francisco Villa. It is an easy short 15 min. walk to Hotel zone beaches - less than a 1 kilometer walk from your door. The beaches are wonderful, clean and there are beach restaurants and services there. Swimming is very safe with lifeguard tower. The location is Downtown North / Hotel zone south. We are about the same distance from “Old town” as we are to the Marina area and the adjoining town of Pitillal. Buses and taxis are cheap here if you don t care to walk. There are no steep hills to climb around here. We are looking for RELIABLE, RESPONSIBLE, long term renters with a 1 year lease. A standard refundable damage deposit (of monthly rate) and first months rent is required. The 2 apts. are not suitable for children or large pets. They are both a good size for 1 or 2 persons both with separate bedrooms. Yes, there is HOT water year round and no concrete floors. Everything is tiled. Both apts. are 650+ square foot each. To keep costs down, we do not use air conditioning but have ceiling fans as well as floor fans. The rents are very affordable for what we offer. Monthly rent for Apt.# 2 is $495 USD per month (or the equivalent value in MXN) with a 1 year lease. It has a small terrace with bistro set for meals also room for plants and hammock even a Bar. B. Q and has an en-suite bathroom attached to the bedroom. Apt.# 3 is slightly smaller in size and is only $475 USD per month (or the equivalent value in MXN) with a 1 year lease. Summer specials on both apts. Water, cable TV and wireless internet is included in the rent. Electricity and gas extra (minimal) Both are an excellent rate for what you get. As you can see by the photographs, both apts. are tastefully decorated and furnished with quality designs. We cater mainly to Americans and Canadians but welcome all nationalities. We paint, fumigate and maintain all the apartments regularly. Both have Microwave ovens, Fridge/freezer etc. and are very well equipped. Complete with bedding, towels, dishes, everything you will need. Just bring your summer clothes and toothbrush.
