Last night, Puerto Vallarta was hit by Lidia, a Category 4 hurricane. Fortunately, the guests in my unit, my friends and loved ones are safe, but the town suffered a lot of damage. I’ve been seeing posts of downed power lines and trees, broken windows, solar panels, chunks of buildings, etc. But this pic affected me the most, because El Parque de los Azulejos is more than a mosaic-tiled park. It’s even more than a central meeting place, marketplace, and event space. It’s a work of art that took countless hours to complete, and represents the heart and soul of those past and present who love Vallarta. I know it will be cleaned up and rebuilt, along with the rest of the damage the town endured, because the people of Vallarta are dedicated and strong, and they won’t let a hurricane keep them down.
