Today marks the 10th anniversary of our arrival in Punta de Mita and our first day at La Quinta del Sol. Even though it doesn’t feel like it has been that long, the calendar confirms it as a fact, a decade by the sea. This picture is from our first evening in town, standing on the beach in front of Las Cabañas. It hasn’t been all margaritas on the beach all the time, no way! Nowadays we drink our tequila straight, like we did tonight, thank you very much.
Speaking of gratitude, we would like to thank several people very much for helping us reach this milestone. Let’s start with the owners of the hotel for giving us this opportunity and entrusting us with this magical place. We would like to thank our terrific guests, especially the folks who just can’t get enough of this place and keep coming back year after year. You know who you are; you make this place feel like home. Speaking of home, we would like to thank our family and friends outside of Mexico for keeping a place for us in their hearts and in their houses, and for coming here to make memories with us over the years. Last, but most certainly not least, we would like to express our immense gratitude to the Mexicans in general and the people of Punta de Mita in particular for their contagious smiles, their unfailing willingness to lend a hand and for welcoming us into this beautiful country.
Thank you for the sunsets, for the waves, for the tacos, for the amigos, for the sweeping views, for the mountains, for the palm trees, for the turtles, for the laughter, for the tranquility, for the lessons, for the hugs, for the music (not you, pi**he banda), for the abundance, for the love…
