Something new is coming to The Welcome Table!

On the last Saturday of every month, we’ll welcome someone from our community whose work, creativity or service we think is worth knowing.

We’re calling the series In Good Company because the people who make San Miguel interesting deserve a place at the table.

Our first guest is Michael Wilbanks-Bepko of MWB Tech Solutions joining us on Saturday, August 29, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Michael provides expert tech support in English for the devices and systems that occasionally make us question our sanity: unreliable Wi-Fi, uncooperative phones and laptops, printers that have simply given up, streaming services, smart TVs, security cameras and smart locks.

He also understands the challenges particular to living outside your home country, including keeping your streaming, banking and calls working as they should.

Michael explains things in plain English, without jargon, and he’ll be available to answer your technology questions informally, no presentation and no pressure.

Sometimes people ask me why I became a real estate advisor in San Miguel.

The truth is, I became the client first.

Long before I got my license, Mike and I were just another couple trying to figure out if moving to Mexico was actually possible.

I remember thinking...

Could we really build a life here?

What neighborhood would feel like home?

Where do we even begin?

There were moments when it felt exciting, and moments when it felt completely overwhelming.

Now, years later, I find myself sitting across the table from people asking me those exact same questions.

I smile because I remember being them.

That's probably why I approach real estate differently.

I don't start by asking, "What kind of house do you want?"

I usually start with, "Tell me about your life."

Do you picture yourself walking everywhere?

Do you want chickens and a garden?

Do you love having friends over for dinner?

Do you want to wake up to church bells or complete silence?

Because once we figure out how you want to live, finding the right house becomes a whole lot easier.

I think that's the part of my job I love most.

One of my favorite parts of writing the In Their Own Words series is that I get to tell the story behind the home, not just list its features.

My newest article features Villa Jacaranda, a contemporary home in Águila Real, but it's really a story about a way of life.

When I asked the homeowner what he'll miss most, he didn't talk about square footage or finishes. He talked about sunrise coffee on the terrace, his three free-ranging hens, neighbors dropping off fresh tortillas, and the quiet rhythm of life in the countryside.

Those are the details that never make it into an MLS listing, but they're often what buyers remember most.

Today, I'm seeing more remote workers, entrepreneurs, creatives, young families, early retirees, and people simply looking for a different way of life than ever before.

👋 Hi, I'm Tiffany.

I didn't stumble into San Miguel de Allende, I chose it.

After building a career in London, New York, and Chicago, I was looking for something different. A place with soul. Beauty. A slower pace of life that made room for the things that actually matter.

Like many of you, I first came here as a buyer. I navigated the process of purchasing property in Mexico as a foreigner, asking all the same questions you're probably asking now. My husband Mike and I eventually built our own off-grid home here, and it remains one of the best decisions we've ever made.

Today, I'm a licensed real estate advisor with The Agency San Miguel, but more importantly, I'm someone who understands what it feels like to take the leap and start over in a new country.

Before real estate, I led global brand strategy at United Airlines and owned an award-winning home and design boutique. Those experiences taught me that a home is never just about square footage, it's about how a place makes you feel.

That's really why The Welcome Table exists.
