Vacation Tips When You Come To Casa Bougainvillea Sayulita

What to Bring

» Passport: You now need a passport for all travel into Mexico from the United States and Canada. If you do not currently have a passport, please plan ahead since it can take up to 6-8 weeks to process.

» Tourist Visa: You will obtain and fill out a Tourist Visa on the plane. Be sure to keep the stamped portion, as you will need it when you depart from Mexico.

» Driver’s License: It’s always a good idea to carry your Driver’s License when you travel.

» ATM Card: Using an ATM machine is by far the easiest way to get Pesos, plus you will get the best exchange rate.

» Credit Card: You should bring a credit card for any major purchases, or in case of emergency.

» Small Spanish (Latin American) Dictionary or phrase book will come in handy since most locals do not speak English.

What to Wear

Most people tend to pack way too much when they go on vacation. Once you get here and get into the "mañana" frame of mind, what you wear won't seem quite as important. And that way you’ll leave plenty of room to bring back souvenirs and a bottle of your favorite tequila for friends and family.

Life here in Mexico is very casual and the weather is usually warm, so beach wear, casual resort wear, and flip flops or sandals are perfect during the daytime. Bring a pair of lightweight pants and a sweater or jacket as the evenings can sometimes get cool. We may also suggest that you pack a pair of tennis shoes or comfortable walking shoes for walking on the cobblestone streets.

Although the charming village of Sayulita is only a stone's throw away with its friendly seafood restaurants--one even hosts a Cordon Bleu trained Chef--the Villa itself is the perfect destination for those seeking magic, tranquility and renewal.

In this garden setting of flamboyant flowers and hushed trees, the surrounding hills abound with mango, papaya, and lemon groves. Each morning as you enjoy a leisurely breakfast served by the housekeeper in the sweeping terrace you can watch the fishermen free-dive for oysters and the little fishing boats running up onto the sand with their fresh catch of the day.

A little further off shore you may catch a glimpse of migrating whales and playful dolphins as they swim by. If watching the ebb and flow of the tides isn't enough, miles of deserted beaches and exotic jungle trails are there to explore, or just relax with an iced-margarita by your private pool.

One day you may venture into Puerto Vallarta for lunch and shopping and then happily return to your "Shangri-La." Another you may head south a few miles to the new Four Seasons Resort with its Jack Nicklaus golf course. The old jungle trail has been transformed into a new road and is now easily driven. Flocks of wild parrots and an abundance of birdlife may accompany you through this lush and inviting landscape of palms, citrus, and arbulus trees en route to The Four Seasons and Bahia de Banderas (The Bay of Flags).

The charming dining room is circular and enclosed in glass to take full advantage of the superb views over the Pacific and the cone ceiling, unique in design, is covered in native royal palm; the seating cozily accommodates 10 Guests. On warm evenings dining on the terrace by candlelight, under the moon, with the lazy sound of surf gently breaking below is an agreeable option.
