Hector Santana calls for tranquility and normality
Bay of Flags, February 23, 2026
Municipal President Hector Santana addressed the community to provide a positive update on the current situation in Bahia de Banderas, highlighting the calmness and the reactivation of activities in the region.
"It is a pleasure to inform you that our area is calm and in order. After recent events, we have managed to restore normality on our streets and avenues," the mayor said. School resumption is scheduled for tomorrow, thanks to SEPEN's confirmation that there are no impediments to returning to education.
Public transport has returned to normal, with some of the routes operating today and tomorrow all truck and combi routes will be operating. The communication lanes, including the freeway and the highway, are completely open and free of obstacles. The President also clarified that the detonations heard recently were part of a controlled destruction of explosive material, carried out by the Secretariat of National Defense (Defense) without any risk to the population.
“It is critical that the community remains informed and calm. There are no emergencies or dangerous situations that should be concerned about,” the President said. Movement in Bay of Banderas has increased, indicating a positive reactivation in everyday life, with gas stations operating and a smooth flow of transportation to hotels.
In his message, the mayor urged the population to avoid unfounded alarms and continue to enjoy the tranquility that characterizes the region. "Coordination between authorities and the community has been key to maintaining order and peace in Bay of Banderas," he concluded.
The community is invited to resume their routines and enjoy the security that the municipality offers.
