Wonderfully put. Think about this the next time you consider adopting a pet.. If you're not ready--don't do it! Pets are NOT disposable items you give away on Craig's list or abandon.

We have the most fantastic Adoption Coordinator! We were so touched by her words we want to share them with you too.

"I pick up these tiny souls from the comfort of their foster homes, I'm a stranger. I drive them to meet more strangers in strange places, then I walk away. They look to me wondering why the only link to their safety is leaving them. Maybe it has happened before, the day they were dumped at a shelter or left in a field to fend for themselves.
I wish I could tell them that this is it. This is the last time they will feel this way. That I found them people who will love them forever. That it's going to be ok, they are going home. "

Our Oaxacan Rescue, Timone, has been adopted! According to The Rescued Dog, "This is not a traditional adoption. They are truck drivers and are on the road for 2 weeks at a time and then off 2 weeks. For a dog that needs constant mental stimulation, this will be perfect for her. They are experienced dog owners and know how important it is to continue with her training."

Our girl has come a long way from that sad puppy found on a backwoods road. Have a happy life, Timone!

In two short days we will be flying to Oaxaca to pick up Timone and her friend Pumba! Excitement can't begin to describe the emotions we are feeling. Thank you Dr. Bautista for taking such good care of Timone!

Timone--courtesy of The Rescued Dog. She was saved by one of our guests from The Rescued Dog and will be transported to San Diego in a few weeks.

It's time for Timone Tuesday! Dr. Bautista has been pleased with Timone's weight gain and overall improving health. This past weekend Timone received her first set of vaccines and is one step closer in coming to San Diego! Timone has taken two more medicated baths, which have significantly helped with her mange. The swelling in her front paws is almost gone and her fur is beginning to regrow. Dr. Bautista says Timone is not a fan of her baths and typically gives her the "stink eye" afterwards. Check out Timone's stink eye in her post bath pictures!
