Meet Lacho and Magda, a dynamic husband and wife duo who have served Posada Margherita guests in the restaurant and housekeeping for over 20 years. They have two kids - Jimmy and Jenni - and they say what they love most about being at Posada is having the opportunity to welcome back so many familiar faces year after year. Tranquillo. In Italian this word is used for many things. Quiet, calm, peaceful, relaxed. Everything is how it should be. Posada Margherita is a culinary-forward oasis inspired by the authentic comforts of Italy, designed to exude and create tranquillo on the shore of the Caribbean.

Inspired by their Italian roots, the owners have created a secluded retreat guided by respect of tradition, nature, home, family, and cuisine. When you enter our posada (which means small hotel in Italian), you enter our home and become part of our family for a time. The hotel features eight distinctly different Italian villa-style (non-smoking) rooms which surround a lush tropical courtyard.

Respectful communing is the foundation of Posada Margherita. We have thoughtfully filled every corner with magic and wondrous experiences to enjoy and contemplate. We have taken care to maintain the mystical & tranquil essence of Tulum. As such, it is a family environment; parties and loud noise just don’t fit it and are not allowed. If you think we have too many rules, then you probably didn’t grow up in Nonno Pino’s house! Kidding aside, we ask that all our guests respect each other and our staff and preserve this quiet setting for everyone.

As cooking and eating are a big part of family, tradition and life in Italy, so it is at Posada Margherita. Blending Italian hospitality and culinary tradition with locally-sourced seafood and produce, our restaurant features traditional Italian recipes from the owner’s mother and grandmother in Genoa. An authentic pizzeria, juice bar and beach bar offer additional options for our guests.
