Celebrating the Stories Woven into the Kebaya

We brought “A Taste of Heritage: Kebaya – Stories Woven in Culture” to life at PARKROYAL Penang Resort, inviting guests to discover the Kebaya through stories, cultural perspectives and Malaysian flavours.

The evening invited guests to learn more about the Kebaya, its cultural significance and the traditions associated with this cherished Malaysian attire, while enjoying traditional Malaysian snacks, Nyonya-inspired bites and teh tarik.

A special highlight was the Kebaya presentation, where participants brought the attire to life and shared stories and insights into the culture behind the Kebaya. Through the sharing session, guests gained a deeper understanding of its significance, traditions and place in Malaysian cultural heritage today.

The experience continued with a live demonstration by our chefs, featuring Kuih Ketayap Pandan and Kuih Ketayap Emas and the familiar flavours behind these Malaysian favourites.

A meaningful evening of culture, conversation and cuisine, creating opportunities for our guests to connect with the stories, flavours and traditions that make Penang special.

PARKROYAL Penang Resort Named Malaysia Landscape Competition Champion for the Second Time

We are proud to announce that PARKROYAL Penang Resort has once again been named Champion in the Malaysia Landscape Competition 2026, organised by the National Landscape Department (Jabatan Landskap Negara).

Following our first Champion title in 2024, this second recognition reaffirms our commitment to maintaining and enhancing our extensive landscaped grounds and green spaces.

As part of the assessment, our gardens and landscaped grounds were presented to the National Landscape Department for evaluation showcasing the care and continuous efforts invested in maintaining our landscape throughout the year.

This achievement reflects the dedication, passion and teamwork of our Activities team with special recognition to our gardener team led by Fauzi, Activities Manager, whose commitment keeps our gardens and green spaces beautifully maintained every day.

Congratulations to the entire team on this well-deserved achievement.
