What happens when traditions are no longer understood?

From Chinese New Year and Qingming (Cheng Beng) to the Hungry Ghost Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and Winter Solstice, these rituals have been part of our lives for generations. But without meaning and connection, they risk being forgotten.

Chris believes heritage should be lived, not just preserved. The Heritage Rituals Book was created to share the stories, beliefs, and practices behind these traditions in a way that resonates with younger generations - offering authentic answers to the question, "Why do we still do this?"

Because when we understand our traditions, we're more likely to keep them alive.

Following the success of The Chris Ong Collection, Chris returns with a new book that continues his journey of preserving and sharing Penang’s rich heritage.

More than a collection of beautiful and historic porcelains, this upcoming publication explores the deeper connections between culture, memory, identity, and the stories that shape who we are. Launching this July, the book invites readers to look beyond heritage as something we simply admire, and instead see it as something we actively preserve, celebrate, and pass on.

Here's an exclusive first look.

Stay tuned for more details on the official launch.
