Hi Guys, I had a beautiful sleep by the beach in my tent and woke up to a beautiful hue:
The canvas of the night begins to fray,
As embers pulse beneath a dying moon,
The tide, in rhythmic, silver disarray,
Humming the shoreline a low and ancient tune.
The nylon walls are thin against the chill,
Where salt and woodsmoke linger in the air;
The world is breathless, blue, and strangely still,
A moment caught in silence and in prayer.
​Then comes the line of fire, thin and bright,
A molten crack along the ocean’s edge,
To spill a liquid, amber-colored light
Across the surf and over every ledge.
The water catches gold in every swell,
The shadows retreat to the hollows of the dune,
As morning rings its bright and silent bell,
And brings the day to life, and none too soon.
​To wake upon the sand, between the tides,
Is to witness how the world begins again;
Where every golden ripple softly hides
The weary weight of yesterday’s long rain.
The coffee steams, the gulls begin their flight,
The vast horizon opens wide and free—
A million diamonds dancing in the light,
Upon the shifting, sun-drenched waking sea.
