If you’ve ever wondered how Ara Dinawan Island Resort got its name, it’s all thanks to this massive tree. 🌳
This is our resident Ara tree (also known as a Banyan tree, from the Ficus genus). It’s been standing here since before World War I, making it the oldest resident on the island. Because it produces figs all year round, it basically acts as a natural buffet and sanctuary for the local birds and wildlife here.
Definitely worth taking a quiet minute to check out the roots in person when you visit.
