World Mosque Series no. 75:. The Masjidil Haram is the House of Allah, The Kaabah. It was first built by Prophet Ibrahim a.s. (1997-1774 BC) and Prophet Ismail a.s. (1911-1774 BC). The Kaaba has been the focus since Prophet Ibrahim, a place of worship and tawaf. Now the Kaabah is over 4000 years old. Hijr Ismail is part of the Kaaba where Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail rested.
Hajarulaswad Or black stone is a stone from heaven that was presented to Prophet Ibrahim by the angel Jibril. The original stone of 110 cm has now been torn apart by several raids and wars with the Qarmatians (Iran-shiah). Finally regrouped and only 8 fragments of the 12 Stones could be saved.
The Kaabah door known as .... was introduced in 1947 and replaced new in 1979 with a 99.99 solid gold door weighing 280kg. the market current value is USD17.4 million.
Kiswah or cover of the Kaabah will be changed anew every year on the Day of Arafah (Hajj Season) The Kaaba began to be the qibla of the Ummah of the Prophet Muhammad (570-632 AD). Whoever prays in a haram mosque (or any mosque / house in a haram land) gets a reward of 100,000 times more than in another mosque in the world.
