Discussion between MACRA & Iwatani Malaysia Sdn Bhd

Representatives from the Malaysian Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Association (MACRA) and Iwatani Corporation met to discuss a proposed refrigerant reclamation business in Malaysia. The project, presented by Iwatani, aims to address Malaysia's future HFC (hydrofluorocarbon) phase-down by recovering, reclaiming, and reusing used refrigerants.

This initiative is expected to reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions and has been selected for a Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) Feasibility Study supported by the Japanese government. The study, which runs for nine months and concludes in February, aims to generate carbon credits from the emission reductions, to be shared between Malaysia and Japan.
