MCMEA Chairmanship Hand-Over Ceremony & Council Meeting

A significant milestone for the Malaysia Council of Mechanical & Electrical Associations (MCMEA) as the Chairmanship was officially handed over from MACRA Immediate Past President, Mr. Peter Tan, to TEEAM President, Mr. Albert Tan.

The Chairmanship was received on behalf of TEEAM by Ts. Lim Sai Seong, Deputy President of TEEAM. We would like to congratulate Ts. Vincent Tee of the Malaysian Fire Protection Association (MFPA) on his election as the new MCMEA Vice Chair.

On behalf of MACRA, we extend our sincere appreciation to Mr. Peter Tan for his leadership and commitment during his tenure as MCMEA Chairman. His dedication and contributions have played an important role in strengthening collaboration among the member associations and advancing the interests of Malaysia’s Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) industry.

We also warmly welcome Malaysia Extra Low Voltage System Association (MELVSA) as the newest member association of MCMEA. With MELVSA’s admission, MCMEA now comprises seven member associations, collectively representing more than 3,000 member companies and over 100,000 employees across Malaysia.

The seven MCMEA member associations are:

• BASAM – Malaysia Building Automation System Association
• MACRA – Malaysian Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Association
• MALEA – The Malaysian Lift & Escalator Association
• MFPA – Malaysian Fire Protection Association
• MPAM – Master Plumbers Association Malaysia
• TEEAM – The Electrical and Electronics Association of Malaysia
• MELVSA – Malaysia Extra Low Voltage System Association

Following the hand-over ceremony, the MCMEA Council held a productive meeting to discuss key industry matters, including retention sum, industry collaboration, and CIDB National Occupational Skills Standards (NOSS).

The meeting concluded with a networking lunch at Oriental Parade, Subang Parade, Subang Jaya, providing an opportunity for the member associations to further strengthen relationships, exchange ideas, and foster closer collaboration.

MACRA looks forward to continued cooperation with all MCMEA member associations in working together to strengthen and advance Malaysia’s M&E industry.
