Everyone who stayed at Red Palm probably remembers the cats and kittens being cared for by Sofie and Hanis, nursed to health/adulthood and rehomed. Over the past few years, their kindness and big hearts have led them to accumulate over 50 cats, most of which have been found neglected and ill in the streets. These loving women have selflessly taken the cats in, cared for them, fed them, had them treated by professionals, had many of them spayed and neutered and generally shown them love. As I am sure you can imagine, such kindness does not come without a cost, and unfortunately caring for the 50 cats and still taking in ever more, is costing a small fortune. We have started a small fund to try and help Sofie and Hanis afford to continue doing the amazing work they so willingly do. If you are able to contribute anything towards the fund, please do so. Every little bit will help.

After more than 10 years and around 17,000 guests, Red Palm closed its doors in February 2015. With only 5 rooms and a big common area, it couldn't sustain the rising costs any longer. So until the end Red Palm stayed what it always was, a small and cosy home to friends, family and travellers from all over the world. Thanks to everyone who joined the Red Palm experience in one way or another ... it was an amazing journey.

From 14th February 2013, passengers flying Malaysia Airlines will enjoy an additional 10 kilograms free baggage allowance in every class. Economy Class passengers will receive 30 kilograms standard baggage allowance, Business Class guests will be entitled to 40 kilograms and those in First Class will have 50 kilograms. Malaysia Airlines is also reducing its excess baggage charges for travel in all classes.
