Kadang-kadang kita nampak najis tikus di dapur, stor atau belakang rumah, terus rasa nak capai penyapu atau vacuum supaya cepat selesai.

Tapi di sinilah ramai orang tak sedar bahayanya.

Bila najis tikus yang kering disapu atau divacuum, ia boleh pecah jadi habuk halus dan terbang ke udara. Habuk ini mungkin datang daripada najis, air kencing atau sisa sarang tikus yang tercemar.

Bila kita sedut tanpa sedar, risiko jangkitan pun meningkat. Sebab itu, bahaya sebenar bukan pada najis yang kita nampak saja, tapi pada zarah halus yang kita tak nampak.

Cara yang lebih selamat ialah jangan terus sapu. Jangan terus vacuum. Basahkan dulu kawasan itu dengan cecair pembasmi kuman atau bancuhan peluntur yang sesuai, biarkan seketika, kemudian kutip dengan tisu atau bahan pakai buang.

Selepas itu, buang dalam plastik yang diikat kemas dan cuci tangan betul-betul.
