Every place of worship deserves to be protected. Every single one. :)

We spent a morning walking through the temples of Brickfields and the experience was incredible. The gopurams rising above the street, hundreds of hand-carved deities watching over everyone who walks in. Camphor and jasmine in the air. I stood there watching a grandmother light a lamp with her grandchild beside her, both of them so still, so present, and I thought, this is what faith looks like when nobody is performing it. It is beautiful.

It’s beyond me how there are people who want spaces like this gone. People labelling sacred spaces as illegal to justify tearing them down. You do not have to share someone’s faith to recognise that it is sacred. This should not be a controversial thing to say.
