To keep my culture alive and talked about by those whom pound the cassava leaves with me, help me with the fire,whom laughed at my silly jokes , and I think , I hope this way I can keep my ancestors traditional way of living alive.

Cassava Chips, locally known as Krupuak Bandung, are a favourite among the children.

Aunty Reen makes them fresh every day, carefully ensuring the best quality in every batch.

From grating the cassava, lenyek (flattening and shaping) it by hand, to drying each piece under the warm Sarawak sun — every step is done traditionally, without the use of machines.

It may be a simple snack, but the love, patience and traditional skills behind it make every bite special.

And somehow, despite being made by hand every single time, Aunty Reen’s Krupuak Bandung always tastes just as delicious and consistent.
