𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗺

“KITA – Sabah Celebrating Diversity” is a 1 hour 45 minute documentary that explores the lived realities, values, and aspirations of Sabahans in embracing, celebrating, and preserving cultural diversity. The film is structured around three interconnected themes: Diversity is Strength, Diversity is Beautiful, and Diversity is Delicious. Through the stories of ten ordinary Sabahans, audiences experience the strength, beauty, and richness of Sabah’s plural society.

The film took two years to complete, including ten months of filming across 16 locations in Sabah and Kuala Lumpur. It has been approved by the Malaysia Film Censorship Board with a “U” certificate, indicating that it is suitable for audiences of all ages and carries positive messages and values.

The film premiered in Kota Kinabalu in February 2023 and has since reached more than 7,000 viewers across over 60 screenings in Sabah, Putrajaya, Penang, Tokyo, Helsinki, and Budapest. It was also nominated for Best Documentary at the 33rd Festival Filem Malaysia.

Language: Bahasa Malaysia narration, multilingual dialogue, trilingual subtitles.
