Malaysia digital service tax will extend to supplies from foreign digital service providers on January 1, 2020. Malaysia is the second country in South-East Asia to introduce such a tax, along with Singapore.

Malaysia digital service tax rules - at a rate of 6% - bring foreign suppliers of digital services into scope from the start of 2020.

This will affect hotel industries as commission charged by OTAs are subject to Digital Service Tax.

The Hotel Self Check In Kiosk will retrieve Mykad data into system, auto Charge Tourism Tax, auto calculate the service tax (SST) and Heritage Tax, Read passports from various countries, create hotel room card, collect & refund cash, process credit card payment & print documents eg Guest Registration Card, Receipt, Tax Invoice & etc.
The kiosk had been launched & deployed by several hotels beginning of this year.
